چکیده

Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common feature in adults undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT). However, accurate assessment of AKI incidence the pediatric population still seems challenge. Objectives To evaluate according to pRIFLE criteria children alloHSCT, with special focus on differences between patients transplanted due oncological and non-oncological indications. Material methods A retrospective analysis data, concerning 135 alloHSCT (89 patients) or other (46 reasons, was performed. The values estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were measured before 24 h after, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 weeks, 3 6 months after analyzed. Results diagnosed 54% all patients. Risk stage (R) noticed at least once 46% 37% children. Injury (I) concerned 12% 6% alloHSCT. both groups comparable. mean eGFR higher than those even until 4th week increased significantly returned pre-transplantation records 2-3 weeks. Then, demonstrated gradual decrement eGFR. Six transplantation, lower compared records, whereas children, these Conclusions Although type indication for has no impact incidence, reasons are greater risk renal impairment

Preliminary Results of Allogenic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation of non-M3 Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Background:  Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (allo-HSCT) is used as treatment of choice for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We aimed to evaluate the prognostic factors in 2-year overall survival of patients with non-M3 AML who underwent allogenic HSCT. Methods: This is a Cross sectional retrospective study. Demographic data and study of variables such as age...

Acute Kidney Injury in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Review

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a highly effective treatment strategy for lymphoproliferative disorders and bone marrow failure states including aplastic anemia and thalassemia. However, its use has been limited by the increased treatment related complications, including acute kidney injury (AKI) with an incidence ranging from 20% to 73%. AKI after HSCT has been associated wit...

Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

The introduction and evolution of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) could be traced back to 1950s, to the studies on interactions among irradiation, covering spleen and bone marrow from it and injection of bone marrow cells. Today, HSCT is considered a well-established, effective and promising means of therapy for various malignant and non-malignant medical conditions, both in chil...

Assessment of Cyclosporine Serum Concentrations on the Incidence of Acute Graft versus Host Disease Post Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a curative treatment option for hematological disorders. Cyclosporine (CsA) is one of the major immunosuppressive agents for the prophylaxis against graft versus host disease (GvHD). In this retrospective study, we evaluated the effects of CsA serum levels on the incidence of acute GvHD and transplant outcomes. 103 adult patients rece...
